The law prohibits Discrimination on the grounds of sex and sexual orientation, disability, religion or belief, race or ethnic origin and age.
In addition, if a person is Discriminated against for asserting certain legal rights this can also lead to potential claims within the Employment Tribunal.
If Discrimination can be proved this can lead to a claim for compensation including an element for “injury to feelings”. There is no limit imposed by Statute upon the amount of compensation that can be awarded.
We can advise on these issues, the procedures which must be followed in order to avoid discrimination, and the legal obligations which apply.
